Borgus Farmhouse

Title

Borgus Farmhouse

Date

1892

Description

J. Henry Borgus purchased 27 acres in 1892 at the junction of Leesburg Pike and Lewinsville Road. He built a farmhouse overlooking Leesburg Pike and named it Ash Grove Farm. He farmed 23 acres that were part of his property on the opposite side of Leesburg Pike. In 1970, Archie Borgus Sr. sold that portion to the National Wildlife Federation. Five generations of the Borgus family continued to live in the original house until VDOT took the property through eminent domain in 2020 for the widening of Leesburg Pike. The house was destroyed in 2021.
